About six months ago, I realized that aside from a live jam of Prince’s “Controversy” during a Maida Vale session with my band Swami, I’ve never performed or released a cover. I set out to remedy this, chose this classic r&b joint from 1994, put my own twist on it…..and voila!

So there it is. #UPGRADE is pretty much finished. Minor tweaks still being made. First single will be chosen soon and we’ll begin working on artwork and planning a timeframe. Wow. It’s taken two and a half years. That’s way longer than any album we’ve made before. And we’re more proud of this…

LOL at this random clip of us I just found. From a festival about 5 years ago. My hair was at it’s longest at this point, I think. The Big Ask…. what was that about then? ;)
I talked to Liana today for the first time in AGES. I probably last talked to her a couple months ago. It’s weird how we’re all so close in the band from being together 24/7 when we’re touring but then when we’re not on tour or recording we might not see each other for ages….
Anyway this pic of both of us is from the first gig Liana ever did with us, back in ‘07 I think. This gig was in London, filmed for the Desi DNA TV show and aired on BBC2. This was basically her audition for us, I think we threw her in the deep end! She passed the test with flying colors ;)
